Fall 2005: ENC 1102: Argument & Persuasion: Invoking the Professional Voice

Annotated Bibliography Peer Review

  1. Check to make sure the paper has at least 6 references with annotations.
  2. Check each citation against the author's chosen citation method (APA, MLA, whatever) and correct it wherever it's wrong.
  3. As you do the following, mark any sentences or words that you think could be confusing for an average reader (even if it isn't confusing to you--state what could seem confusing for others).
  4. Check the first sentence of each summary to make sure it mentions the author or title of the article and to make sure it states the article's main point.
  5. Check to make sure each of the following sentences supports or critiques the claim in the first sentence.
  6. Check for active voice.
  7. Do an overall grammar/voice check and mark any comments for improvement.
