First Year Florida: Projects
You should have your Campus Resource Projects prepared by Friday, October 20 (all groups). Just wanted to remind you what you need to complete in this two week period and what you need to bring with you:
1) Your entire group needs to meet with a representative together (and get
a photo for your portfolio).
2) You should prepare a presentation designed to last about 10-15 minutes. Each
member needs to present about equally, so figure out how you're gonna best set
up your presentation.
3) Make sure to include aspects of your presentation to best meet the needs of
the three basic learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic/tactile). Brainstorm
armong your group on this.
4) You ought to grab a few flyers. Either provide enough for everyone or a couple
to pass around.
5) Lastly, consider what you're being graded on: information, group effort, and
creativity. Make sure you cover the most important stuff regarding the department
you're covering and work hard together to get it done, but also keep in mind that
you want to present at least part of the information in a fun, creative, or unique
way. PowerPoints are good visuals, and if you want to use one, you definitely
can, but try thinking of other ways to convey information, too.
If you want to do a fieldtrip, you're gonna need to ask by Tuesday (either
by e-mail or by visiting us in office hours).
If you plan to use a powerpoint or any sort of computer presentation, please e-mail
either Laurie or myself with the idea and we'll let you know what needs to be
done to properly execute it. Thanks!
