FYF Photo Portfolio Format

“Discovery, intention, action”

At the end of the semester you will turn in your First-year Florida “Portfolio” highlighting your first semester. The FYF experience is about assisting you in your transition to UF by connecting and engaging you in the UF community.

Through your enrollment in FYF the objectives are for you to develop:

Show us how you have chosen to meet these objectives.

Collect. Plan. Assemble. Present.

To obtain full credit for the portfolio you must “collect”, at a minimum, the following photos (with you in them):

Include a brief table of contents, a short summary about your overall experience of meeting the FYF objectives, and titles and captions for each photo. Titles and captions can include information about who was involved with it, what you did, when it was, where you were, and why, in your eyes, was the experience important.

Feel free to also include “artifacts” to supplement your photo, such as ticket stubs, printed programs, business cards, clip art, or things that reveal something about you.

Things to think about as you “plan” your portfolio:

When you “assemble” your portfolio think quality, not quantity. Your portfolio can be on a large piece of poster board or in a three-ring binder or on-disk in a PowerPoint presentation.

While you won’t “present” your portfolio to the class, think of your portfolio as a presentation of sorts to us.
