Intro to Flash Class: April 12-16, 11am-12pm
The course will meet daily for one week in the IMAGE Lab (Rolfs 410). Meeting time will be from 11am-12pm, April 12-16.
April 12: Monday: Basics of Flash Interface
- Basic Flash interface:
- Timeline, stage, layers
- Other windows: libraries, panels
- Tools - bottom options depend on tool selected
- Libraries and Symbols
- Making movies
- Adding frames
- Basic Animation: motion, shape, and color tweening
Today's class goals: familiarization with Flash interface and a basic tweening animation.
April 13: Tuesday: Buttons, Paths, and More
- Making symbols, animating symbols
- Buttons, Movie Clips, Instances
- Paths - Bind it
- Animating objects, adding keyframes
Today's class goals: further familiarization with Flash interface, using and embedding movie clips and buttons, and using paths.
April 14, Wednesday: No class
April 15: Thursday: Basics of ActionScript
- Binding an object to a path
- Starting to Program
- Syntax
- ActionScript Functions
- Variables
- Operations - Making a button that makes words disappear and reappear
- Making a button that makes a faucet flow more or less water.
Today's class goals: learn to use paths, and make two programs for use in learning basic ActionScript in terms of syntax, structure, and parts.
April 16: Friday: Further Work with ActionScript
- Making a water faucet that drips (multiple movies and actions)
- Making a paperdoll using stop and drag
